The first full week of September settles into fall programming on Lake Norman. Between Tuba Skinny and a Led Zeppelin tribute at the Cain Center, the Cornelius Festival of Cultures, a Journey tribute at BoatYard, and LangTree Live, there is plenty happening just minutes from 19329 Watermark Dr #342.

September settles into its fall groove this week. Tuba Skinny brings New Orleans brass to the Cain Center on Friday, Good Times Bad Times closes the weekend with a Led Zeppelin tribute, the free Cornelius Festival of Cultures fills Cain Park on Saturday, and BoatYard launches its new Acoustic Til Thursday Night Football series. Monday, September 7 · Labor Day

Bridge Lunch at the Cain Center for the Arts (21348 Catawba Ave, Cornelius) at 12:30 PM. Free and open to all. The Cain Center kicks off the fall season this week with its regular Monday gathering.

Labor Day on the lake. Lake Norman's public boat ramps, waterfront restaurants, and breweries are all open for the holiday. Ramsey Creek Park and Beach in Cornelius hosts its final day of the season with a free shuttle from the Northcross Park and Ride lot, while Jetton Park (19000 Jetton Rd, Cornelius) offers shoreline fishing, trails, and jetty views over the water. Plan ahead for parking at the popular spots on the holiday.

Tuesday, September 8

Live acoustic music returns to venues across Cornelius for the evening. Check venue pages for specific artists as the weekly schedule rotates.

Also Tuesday: Jack's Corner Tap (8301 Magnolia Estates Dr, Cornelius) runs its Tuesday half-priced wine and chicken and dumplings specials.

Wednesday, September 9

Wine Down Wednesday returns on South Street in Davidson at 6:30 PM. Wine tastings, boutique shopping, and sidewalk socializing in one of the prettiest small downtowns in the Charlotte area.

Game Night at Torrence and Knox (20936 Torrence Chapel Rd, Cornelius) at 6:30 PM. Free and family-friendly, with board games presented by Games With Glen.

Mac's Speed Shop Lake Norman (19601 Liverpool Pkwy, Cornelius) hosts LKN Jeep Night from 7:00 to 10:00 PM with $11 PBR buckets, $5 Jameson shots, and $5.50 draft specials.

Thursday, September 10

Acoustic Til Kickoff launches at BoatYard Lake Norman (18418 Statesville Rd, Cornelius) from 6:00 PM. A brand-new free series of live acoustic music leading into Thursday Night Football, with food and drink specials. Free entry and all ages, right on the lake about 5 minutes from Watermark.

LangTree Live at LangTree Lake Norman (401 Langtree Rd, Mooresville) from 6:30 to 9:00 PM. The free outdoor concert series continues weekly through September at the entrance to Langtree on I-77. Bring a chair or blanket and catch a new band each Thursday on the lawn. Check the venue for this week's featured artist.

Music Bingo at BoatYard Lake Norman from 7:00 PM. Free and all ages, on the waterfront deck. Arrive early for a good table.

Also Thursday: Fresh Chef (20601 Torrence Chapel Rd, Cornelius) runs a half-price select wine bottle special on Thursdays.

Friday, September 11

Tuba Skinny at the Cain Center for the Arts (21348 Catawba Ave, Cornelius). Doors at 6:30 PM, show at 7:30 PM. The beloved New Orleans brass band brings its joyful, horn-driven sound to the stage. Tickets available at cainarts.org.

A Journey Tribute at BoatYard Lake Norman (18418 Statesville Rd, Cornelius) at 8:00 PM. A lakeside tribute to one of rock's most enduring bands, with craft cocktails and a full dinner menu. Ticketed; check boatyardlkn.com.

Davidson Music & Makers Series: Matthew Ablan at The Crazy Pig (402 S Main St, Davidson) at 6:00 PM. Free. An evening of acoustic music in the heart of downtown Davidson.

Saturday, September 12

Good Times Bad Times, a Led Zeppelin tribute at the Cain Center for the Arts (21348 Catawba Ave, Cornelius). Doors at 6:30 PM, show at 7:30 PM. A high-energy celebration of Led Zeppelin's catalog. Tickets available at cainarts.org.

Cornelius Festival of Cultures at Cain Park (21336 Catawba Ave, Cornelius) from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Free. The pocket park next to the Cain Center fills with food, art, live performances, and cultural booths celebrating the diversity of the Lake Norman community. A great warm-up right before the Zeppelin tribute down the street.

Concerts on the Green: The Chain (Fleetwood Mac Tribute) at the Davidson Town Green (Main St, Davidson) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Free. The fall outdoor concert series returns to downtown Davidson. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the tribute on the lawn.

Birkdale Farmers Market runs from 9:00 AM to noon at 120 S. Main St in Davidson. Fresh produce, local baked goods, artisan crafts, and community vendors.

Sunday, September 13

Acoustic Solutions jazz brunch at The Serve Pickleball+Kitchen in Cornelius from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Live jazz, an excellent brunch menu, and a relaxed patio atmosphere to close out the weekend.
