August rolls into its second week with a full calendar around Lake Norman. Million Dollar Quartet continues its celebrated run at the Cain Center for the Arts through August 23. The free live music circuit at Lost Worlds Brewing, 760 Craft Works, Harp and Crown, Torrence and Knox, Royal Bliss, and Rudder and Rose keeps every weekend filled. Music Bingo at BoatYard and Wine Down Wednesday in Davidson are back. Here is everything happening August 10 through 16, all within a short drive of 19329 Watermark Dr #342.

Monday, August 10 · Past
Bridge Lunch at the Cain Center for the Arts (21348 Catawba Ave, Cornelius) at 12:30 PM. A weekly social lunch and gathering open to all. Free and welcoming. A great mid-day introduction to one of Cornelius's premier cultural venues.
What the Funk (Funk) at Harp and Crown LKN (19930 W Catawba Ave, Cornelius) from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Free. The weekly Monday night live music series at one of Cornelius's best patios.
Wednesday, August 12 · Past
Wine Down Wednesday on South Street in Davidson at 6:30 PM. An evening of wine tastings, boutique shopping, and socializing in one of the prettiest small downtowns in the Charlotte area. A weekly tradition that draws locals from all around Lake Norman.
Daniel Smith (Acoustic) at Peninsula Prime at 6:00 PM. Free.
John Sullivan (Acoustic) at Harp and Crown LKN from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. Free.
Game Night at Torrence and Knox (20936 Torrence Chapel Rd, Cornelius) at 6:30 PM. Free and family-friendly. Board games presented by Games With Glen.
Thursday, August 13 · Tonight
Music Bingo at BoatYard Lake Norman (18418 Statesville Rd, Cornelius) from 7:00 PM. Free, all ages. Right on the lake, just 5 minutes from Watermark. Music Bingo runs every Thursday through the summer and packs the waterfront deck. Arrive early for a good table.
John Sullivan (Rock) performs at The Serve Pickleball+Kitchen in Cornelius from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Free admission. The Serve's patio is the place for dinner and drinks accompanied by live acoustic sets every Thursday.
Jared Evans (Acoustic) at 760 Craft Works (760 W Catawba Ave, Cornelius) at 7:00 PM. Free. A cozy neighborhood brewery with craft beer and live music.
Dune Blue at Petra's in Cornelius at 8:00 PM.
Also Thursday: Fresh Chef (Cornelius) runs a half-price wine bottle special. Galway Hooker offers half-price draft beers and $4 well drinks. Both are popular after-work stops along the lake.
Friday, August 14
Sarah Vieira (Pop) performs at Lost Worlds Brewing Company (19700-D One Norman Blvd, Cornelius) at 6:00 PM. Free. Lost Worlds is a popular craft brewery just off the I-77 corridor, known for its rotating beer selection and regular live music calendar.
Tim Cook Band (Country/Rock) at 760 Craft Works (760 W Catawba Ave, Cornelius) at 6:30 PM. Free. A cozy neighborhood brewery with craft beer and live music in a relaxed setting.
Jared Evans (Rock) at H2 Public House (20210 W Catawba Ave, Cornelius) at 6:30 PM. Free live music paired with dinner and drinks.
Erin Maynor (Acoustic) at Torrence and Knox (20936 Torrence Chapel Rd, Cornelius) at 7:00 PM. Free. A Cornelius neighborhood restaurant and bar with a warm, local atmosphere.
This Year's Model (Pop/Rock) at Royal Bliss (Cornelius) from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. Free.
Rockie Lynne at Snug Harbor in Cornelius at 7:00 PM.
Completely Unchained (Van Halen Tribute) at BoatYard Lake Norman (18418 Statesville Rd, Cornelius) at 8:00 PM. Paid ticketed event. The ultimate Van Halen experience on the lake.
Stella Rising (Pop) at Rudder and Rose in Cornelius at 10:00 PM. Free.
All Friday venues are within a 5-mile radius of Watermark at 19329 Watermark Dr. The free shows have no cover charges.
Saturday, August 15
Million Dollar Quartet matinee at the Cain Center for the Arts (21348 Catawba Ave, Cornelius). Doors at 2:00 PM, curtain at 3:00 PM. The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical recreates the legendary 1956 Sun Records session with Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins. Running through August 23. Tickets available at cainarts.org.
Save July at Bin 110 (19712 One Norman Blvd, Cornelius) at 9:00 PM. VIP table reservations available.
The Ledbetters with Pushh at BoatYard Lake Norman (18418 Statesville Rd, Cornelius). Tickets $15 advance, $20 at the door. A high-energy show on the lake.
For free live music Saturday: Lost Worlds Brewing at 5:00 PM, 760 Craft Works at 6:30 PM, Harp and Crown from 7:00 to 10:00 PM, Royal Bliss from 7:00 to 10:00 PM, and Torrence and Knox from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. All free, all within Cornelius.
Saturday morning: the Birkdale Farmers Market runs from 9:00 AM to noon at 120 S. Main St in Davidson. Fresh produce, local baked goods, artisan crafts, and community vendors.
Sunday, August 16
Acoustic Solutions jazz brunch at The Serve Pickleball+Kitchen in Cornelius from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Live jazz, an excellent brunch menu, and a relaxed patio atmosphere. A perfect way to close out the weekend before the work week begins.
Also Sunday: Million Dollar Quartet matinee at the Cain Center for the Arts. Doors at 2:00 PM, curtain at 3:00 PM. The same celebrated production that enchanted opening weekend audiences.
Dining specials and restaurant events
Mid-August dining on Lake Norman means waterfront patios, cool craft cocktails, and the relaxed pace of late summer. Several local restaurants run weekly specials worth planning around:
- Jack's Corner Tap (Cornelius): Rotating daily deals. Monday Tacos $2 all day plus chicken-fried steak $11, Tuesday Chicken and Dumplings $10 with Lasagna $12, Saturday Double Mimosa for $5, and Sunday brunch with Mimosas at $2 and Miller Draft at $4.50.
- Fresh Chef (Cornelius): Thursday half-price bottles of select wine. A popular spot for an after-work glass on the patio.
- Galway Hooker (Cornelius): Thursday half-price draft beers and $4 well drinks. A lively Irish pub with a great Lake Norman following.
- Old Town Public House (21314 Catawba Ave, Cornelius): Wednesday half-price bottles of wine. This classic Cornelius watering hole also features live music regularly. Check their calendar at drinklivemusic.com.
- Sushi at the Lake (Cornelius): Tuesday night $2.50 draft beers. A local favorite for fresh sushi and affordable drink specials.
- 131 MAIN Restaurant (17830 Statesville Rd, Cornelius): A Cornelius staple with upscale Southern dishes, craft cocktails, and live music on select nights.
- BoatYard Lake Norman (18418 Statesville Rd, Cornelius): Waterfront dining with live music, a full bar, and lake views. The kitchen serves dinner until late, so you can eat before or after a show.

- Million Dollar Quartet: Continues at the Cain Center for the Arts through August 23 with performances on August 19, 20, 21, 22 (two shows), and the closing matinee on August 23.
- Are You Ready For It? A Taylor Experience: Friday, August 21 at the Cain Center for the Arts. A Taylor Swift tribute experience.
- A1A (Jimmy Buffett Tribute): Friday, August 21 at 8:00 PM at Cornelius Presbyterian Church.
