The first full week of August brings a major theatrical opening and a high-energy tribute show to Lake Norman. Million Dollar Quartet, the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical about the legendary 1956 Sun Records recording session with Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins, opens Saturday at the Cain Center for the Arts. BoatYard keeps the summer concert series rolling with Red Not Chili Peppers on Friday. And the weekly free live music calendar stays full across Cornelius and Davidson. Queen's Feast Charlotte Restaurant Week concluded on August 2, but the Lake Norman dining scene remains vibrant. Several local restaurants continue running their own specials and promotions:
- Melting Pot Charlotte-Lake Norman (Huntersville) — Happy Hour Monday through Thursday 4:30 to 6:00 PM with half-off cheese and chocolate fondue at the bar top.
- Eddie's on Lake Norman (Mooresville) — Monday through Friday lunch specials from $10.95, Pasta Night with $6 well drinks, and a $24 Prime Rib special.
- 131 MAIN Restaurant (17830 Statesville Rd, Cornelius) — A Cornelius staple with upscale Southern dishes, craft cocktails, and live music on select nights. One of the highest-rated restaurants near Lake Norman.
- LakeHouse Wine Bar and Grill (18665 Harborside Dr, Cornelius) — Waterfront dining with harbor views, wine, and small plates. Right on the water in Cornelius.
- BoatYard Lake Norman (18418 Statesville Rd, Cornelius) — Waterfront dining with live music, a full bar, and lake views. The kitchen serves until late, so you can grab dinner before or after a show.
- The Waterman Fish Bar LKN (9615 Bailey Rd, Cornelius) — A new seafood spot on the lake serving fresh catches, craft cocktails, and waterfront patio seating. A fast favorite among locals.
- Thai House - Lake Norman (19700 One Norman Blvd, Cornelius) — Authentic Thai cuisine just off the I-77 corridor at Exit 28. Popular for lunch specials and dinner.

These weekly staples run through the summer:
- Birkdale Farmers Market — Every Saturday from 9:00 AM to noon at 120 S. Main St in Davidson. Fresh produce, local goods, and community vendors.
- Live at the Lake — Free live music at local breweries and restaurants including Lost Worlds Brewing, 760 Craft Works, Primal Brewery, Royal Bliss, Harp and Crown, Rudder and Rose, Torrence and Knox, and The Serve. Check the full nightly schedule at Cornelius Today.
- The Serve Pickleball+Kitchen hosts live music every Thursday and Sunday brunch. Check their calendar for weekly artist lineups.
- Game Night at Torrence and Knox — Every Wednesday at 20936 Torrence Chapel Rd, Cornelius. Free, family-friendly board games presented by Games With Glen.
- Bridge Lunch — Every Monday at 12:30 PM at the Cain Center for the Arts. A weekly social lunch open to all.

Looking further into August, the calendar continues to fill:
- Million Dollar Quartet runs through August 23 at the Cain Center for the Arts. Multiple showtimes available, including evening and matinee performances through the month.

- Lost at the Lake 2026 — A concert series at Lost Worlds Brewing (19700-D One Norman Blvd, Cornelius) in partnership with the Cain Center, featuring regional and national acts. The next show is Friday, August 21.
- Lake Norman Bluegrass Jamboree — Saturday, August 29 from 3:00 to 10:00 PM at Lost Worlds Brewing in Cornelius. A free, family-friendly and dog-friendly event featuring the Charlotte Folk Society Jam (3-5 PM), Charlotte Mandolin Orchestra (5-5:30 PM), and Carolina Ridgeline (7-9:15 PM). Food served by Lost Worlds Kitchen from 12-9 PM.
- Wine Down Wednesday continues every Wednesday on South Street in Davidson.
- Music Bingo continues at BoatYard Lake Norman every Thursday through the summer.
